Question: How do I import Wedbush Securities data into TAPro?

After years of working with data we created two solutions for reporting option trades.

I. A manual process where you can link the Exercise/Assign/Expire to specific opening option trades and underlying trades. This got complex and difficult to mange in bulk. These features are still in the software

II. An automated solution that will close options that are still open, base on their expire date. These all close at $0.00. If there is an assignment or exercise there there is already a separate Buy or Sell. The math results are about the same except in cases where the a new position is held long term and by not including the premium there is a difference in long term vs short term tax rate for the premium amount

I tend to process data using alternative II. In this case here is what I would do.
1. Create a file with the stock Buy/Sell trades and load those into TA
2. Reconcile the data so all the closing trades have opening trades
3. Create a file with the option trades.
4. During import, map Assignment to Assign etc.

Note: If you edit the heading so they are similar to the standard TA format, make sure to include all of the columns, otherwise TA can get confused and expect a column that is not provided.

If you need TA to create a closing trade based on an expire date then you will need to manually edit each option symbol by using Edit Symbols - Add/Modify. Alternatively you can use File/Export/Symbols, edit using Excel then use File/Import.
