How to I link an old 20 character symbol with the new 30 character of the symbol
Posted by Henry Gage on 24 February 2014 08:24 PM

Our design work for managing symbol details got ahead of market support and we paused work and disabled the Equivalent Symbol feature. The basic idea was to use a new process for cross matching symbols so that two different symbols could link. If there is enough demand then we will finish the work.

Here is an alternative approach that could meet the need. Use the built in corporate actions tool and merge the old and new symbols.

1. Edit/Symbols - Corporate Actions
2. Set the Old symbol as the prior version
3. Set the New symbol as the current
