We consulted with our tax preparation associates and they confirmed in cases where the tax software has not accepted the trade data they report the totals within the software and keep a copy of the schedule d as a reference in case there are questions later.

Also some tax advisers create a .pdf of the tax report and send retain it in cases where details are required later. To generate a .PDF of your tax report install CutePDF Writer (tm) then you can print a .PDF from your standard print menu.

A benefit of using this solution for generating a .pdf is it will appear as a printer for your computer. This means you can create .pdf documents from any of the programs on your computer.
